Woah, this is pretty cool. I like what you're doing with these synths and modulations. I also like how this steps away from your common Modern DnB drum pattern (snare on 2 and 4, bass on 1 and end of 3). It kinda reminds me of an old Machinegirl album on bandcamp. I think you can work on mastering your stems better. It can get so loud to the point where it gets hard to distinguish individual instruments. It's also clipping a little but maybe distortion was intended. Overall, pretty good!

WWW4 responds:

personally i find this track embarassing lol

I like the acid stuff that's going on with that saw patch. Sounds like more of a monosynth sound that you're going for (Something like a Roland TB-303). I would consider this more on a techno or house side since Drum and Bass is usually 160 - 189 BPM. Although, you could touch up on mastering by lowering some instruments rather than compressing some over the bass drum. Overall, a good start!
(I'd appreciate it if you checked out some of my music, thanks!)

VaikoMusic responds:

I didn't really compress anything, I didn't even master it (^∀^*), but I definitely will (try to) master my other songs.
Thanks for the feedback :)

Jesus christ it's loud. So loud that it's almost clipping and limiting..
That's all I have to say

Lot7even responds:

Oof, I've been away I while and didn't see your review.
Yeah, it's clipping a lot. I kinda had broken headphones at the time though,

Well first of all, this song isn't apart of the Drum and Bass genre. This is more of a modern house or synth pop due to this swing. I am personally not a fan of Japanese vocaloids just like the recent commentator but that doesn't stop me from reviewing this song.
For personal preference, the vocals need to come out more. If you're making a track with vocals in it, it should at least feature it along with the rest of the instruments. Secondly, the mastering for the bass kicks and the drums just overpower everything. I don't know if it's just me but the sine counter-melody feels very fair away aside from the drums. I also feel like the swing on the 16th notes are way too heavy to where it sounds like a jazz shuffle (Even though a lot of house and garage music tend to have house shuffle dancers). It's just the swing on the vocals don't sound that good. One more thing; this song reminds me of that really famous Alan Walker track that I despise but if you're going for that kind of sound, you're on the right track.

Precipitation24 responds:

Thank you for your advice. I will continue to practice diligence.
I think balance of vocals, bass kick, and other instruments is like that of curry powders.
It seems that I put bass spice too much X-P

I think Mr. Alan Walker is one of the great artists in the world.
I must study from him.

Well, the filtered saw is not in the same key as the other filtered saw hits. I think the bass is in F minor and the chords don't fit with the bass so it doesn't sound like it's right theory wise. Work on your mixing because there's no bottom to it. One more thing; Drum and Bass tends to be break heavy and fast pace. It seems that you're taking this at a cool 100 or more BPM which is more of a trance/techno kind of vibe.

Check out some of my tracks if you have the time, thanks!

Thanks for this review! :) I'll check your tracks later. ;)

Wow, this is really cool. I feel like the break needs to be louder overall remind. Reminds me of some stuff from noisia. Also, that arp sounds like it's hiding behind that baseline and the saw. One more thing, I would use some sort of compression effect to bring out the bass drum without having to make the sawtooth pad swell.

Obelion responds:

Those are some solid suggestions! While I really appreciate them, this is an old track, and I'm most definitely not going back to it, to fix these sort of things.

I feel like the wobbles are a bit too much. It just makes it sound like fast dubstep but otherwise it's good for my taste.

Quarl responds:

Fast dubstep? Sounds like you've never heard of nuero dnb.

Is cool. Nice and chill. Not too heavy
Wonder where you got the samples tho

If you have the time, check out some of my stuff. Been working on things and I'm not really getting noticed.

B-RadGfromOV responds:

thanks man, yeah I'll check it out

Much mellow tone. It has good feel and it really something to chill out to and to play on a soundbar. (I speak Italian much and not much English)

B-RadGfromOV responds:

Thanks! Message received, your English is proficient.
